SOMALI MUSEUM AND PLAY COMING TO ST. CLOUD
St. Cloud, Minn. – There will be two exciting opportunities to get to know our Somali neighbors on Thursday, March 24th, and Friday, March 25th.
On Thursday, March 24th, the District 742’s Middle CMpS student team, in partnership with #unitecloud, is bringing exhibits from the Somali Museum of MN to the St. Cloud public library from 6-8pm. There will also be local Somali-American residents present to answer any questions and teach about their culture.
On Friday, March 25th, Ka Joog, SCSU Somali Student Organization, and #unitecloud are proud to bring the play, Chronicles of the Diaspora, to Ritsche Auditorium at SCSU, starting at 7pm. This play addresses the life of Somalis that have come to America – including such topics as terrorism, mental health, domestic abuse, and community relationships. This is a free event but, seating is limited. Doors open at 6:30pm.
#unitecloud’s mission is to resolve tension and restore dignity to Central MN through education and actionable steps.
